Buenos Aires, November 15 (NA) -- The Buenos Aires-La Plata highway was once again the scene of a serious incident this Saturday, when a 9-year-old boy died after being run over at the height of Quilmes, which resulted in a total cut-off and serious incidents on the road.

The incident occurred after noon at kilometer 18, in the jurisdiction of the 8th Police Station. The measure generated several kilometers of delays and left buses and motorists stranded.

Meanwhile, passengers on a bus from line 129 traveling towards La Plata recounted that the situation became hostile: "They threw stones and hit the bus," a passenger told the Noticias Argentinas agency amidst the tension.

In any case, as the hours passed, two lanes were freed, although traffic remained reduced and with significant delays.

In Quilmes, where a minor was run over by a Volkswagen Up, which was then intercepted by personnel from the Hudson Traffic Post on the descent in Bernal (Km 17.500), on the streets of Espora and España.

Police sources informed that the vehicle was driven by Patricio Nicolás Passarello, 25 years old, an employee and resident of La Plata. The young man was apprehended at the scene and transferred to the corresponding dependency by order of the UFI No. 22 of the Quilmes Judicial Department.

Moments after the accident, about a hundred neighbors of Villa El Monte, close to the victim, began a protest on the highway, blocking both lanes in demand for justice.
